PLX BOLSTERS MARKET LEAD – SHIPS OVER TWO-MILLION PCI EXPRESS DEVICES

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - March 5, 2008 - PLX Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLXT), the largest global supplier of PCI Express® (PCIe®) switch and bridge silicon, today announced it has reached a significant industry milestone by becoming the only vendor to have shipped more than two million PCIe switching and bridging chips. Through this unequaled achievement, PLX has further extended its leadership position in providing PCIe interconnect silicon to the world's foremost names in the communications, server, storage, embedded-control, and consumer markets.

"Thanks to our early vision of and commitment to the PCI Express market, PLX has crossed a major point in the company's history," said Larry Chisvin, PLX® chief operating officer. "Through their purchases of our switches and bridges, PLX customers worldwide are providing testimony that this vision and commitment continue to serve their and the industry's wide range of PCI Express interconnect growing needs."

PLX adopted PCIe in 2001 and embarked quickly on dual efforts to both champion the technology publicly and develop powerful and highly versatile PCIe-compliant devices. As a result of its aggressive development effort, the company introduced its first family of devices in 2004, and since then has built up it product portfolio to include the industry's widest selection and most feature-rich combination of PCIe Gen 1 and Gen 2 silicon, all of which are available today.

"PLX has developed a large customer base for its PCI Express technology used in servers and storage, embedded and communications systems – applications that demand both volume availability and the specialized interconnect devices PLX provides," said Jag Bolaria, senior analyst at The Linley Group and author of several industry reports on interconnect technology and markets. "The success PLX has had thus far in PCI Express Gen 1, as evidenced by its having shipped two million devices, bodes well for its new Gen 2 line of switches."

PLX ExpressLane™ PCI Express switches and bridges provide board and system designers with the industry's most extensive and proven lineup of products to address a wide and growing variety of market segments. The company's Gen 1 and recently introduced Gen 2 PCIe switches range in density from three to 12 ports and from five to 48 lanes, and offer backward compatibility supporting legacy designs. All PLX PCIe products are fully supported with a combination of hardware and a highly customized software development kit (SDK) containing powerful new tools to help customers design efficiently and quickly.
